a lawyer.

The same doctrine and reasoning taught across three years of law school — the 1L core, the 2L/3L canon, and the mental machinery underneath it all — rebuilt for a person who was never handed the key.

Built on The Black-Letter Method™ — the way lawyers are actually made: rule, application, judgment. Not memorization.

Who this is built for

You don't need a license to understand the system that governs your life.

The self-advocate

Facing a landlord, a debt collector, a small-claims summons, or an unfair contract — and refusing to walk in blind. Learn the rules that apply to you.

The entrepreneur

You sign, negotiate, and hire. Read a contract like a lawyer reads it: for the clause that bites, the term that's missing, and the leverage nobody told you about.

The curious citizen

You want to actually understand the Constitution, the courts, and why the law works the way it does — at the depth a first-year law student is held to.

The Black-Letter Method™

Law school never teaches you the law. It teaches you a way of thinking. So will this.

Every lawyer runs the same loop: spot the issue, state the rule, apply it to the facts, reach a conclusion. Master that loop and you can pick up any area of law for the rest of your life. Everything here is built to install it.

The Curriculum

The full JD canon, in the order law school teaches it.

Tap any lesson to mark it read — your progress is saved on this device. The 1L core and every case brief are open to everyone.

The IRAC Engine

Reading about reasoning won't make you a lawyer. Reps will.

Here's a real fact pattern. Work it yourself — Issue, Rule, Application, Conclusion — then reveal a model answer and grade your own move. New pattern each round.

Fact Pattern
The Landmark Case Library

Eighteen cases that built American law — each briefed the way a 1L is taught to.

Facts, issue, holding, and why it still governs. This is how you learn to read law: one holding at a time.

The Courthouse Memory Palace

Learn it once. Walk the courthouse. Never forget it.

This is the Sumo-Librarian encoder: every doctrine gets an absurd, unforgettable image (the Sumo) filed in a room you can walk to on command (the Librarian). Tap a room, see the scene, then flip on Recall Mode and pull the law from the picture — the move that turns reading into remembering.

Spaced-Repetition Deck

The doctrine and the Latin, drilled until it's yours.

Tap the card to flip. Rate how well you knew it — cards you miss come back sooner. Your deck is saved on this device.

Before you talk yourself out of it

Cross-examine the doubts.

"I'm not smart enough for law."

Law rewards the patient far more than the brilliant. It's a language and a method — both learnable by anyone who shows up. The Socratic dread you've heard about is a teaching gimmick, not a gate. You already reason about fairness every day; this just gives it structure.

"Isn't this just going to make me dangerous — a little knowledge?"

The opposite. A little knowledge sounds like confidence; a real education teaches you exactly where your knowledge ends and a licensed attorney's begins. You'll finish this knowing when to handle something yourself and when to pick up the phone — which is itself worth the price.

"Can't I just Google my legal question?"

Google gives you an answer. This gives you the ability to know whether the answer is right, whether it applies in your state, and what question you should have asked instead. That's the difference between a search result and judgment.

"Does this let me practice law or become a paralegal?"

No — and anyone who promises that is lying to you. This is the education, not a license or a credential. What it gives you is fluency: the ability to understand, read, and reason through the law that already governs your life.

From readers

What changes when the fear turns into fluency.

"I walked into small claims actually understanding burden of proof. I won. The judge asked where I studied — I said 'a Playbook.'"

— T. Nguyen, small-business owner

"The IRAC engine broke my brain in the best way. I finally see the 'issue' in everything now — at work, in contracts, everywhere."

— D. Alvarez, operations lead

"I read the Con Law module out loud with my daughter. She's applying to law school. I'm just a dad who wanted to keep up. We both loved it."

— R. Okafor, reader
When you need more than knowledge

Education makes you fluent. These three make you covered.

Who built this

CuongFBI · "Mr How To…"

I escaped Vietnam at eleven. I survived a refugee camp in Malaysia, landed in American foster care with a family that loved me, and worked three jobs while earning my degree at the Carlson School at the University of Minnesota. I spent ten years in FBI Foreign Counter-Intelligence, and more than twenty years reuniting my entire family in America — one person at a time.

What protected me through all of it was never luck. It was learning how the system actually works. Today I'm semi-retired, helping my wife run our Nail Art salon in Bloomington, Minnesota, near the Mall of America — and building the maps I wish someone had handed me. This is one of them.

"The law was never meant to be a secret language. It is a set of rules — and rules can be learned. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you the fear, not the knowledge."

— Cường

"In America, the courtroom does not ask where you were born. It asks whether you know your rights. Learn them, and you are never powerless again."

— Cường

"I arrived with nothing but a name and a story. Now I am handing you the map. Do better — I dare ya."

— Cường

May you always be loving, laughing & living your life to the fullest!
